We are looking for a talented Tooling Engineer to join our team specializing in Process Development for our Turbo Technologies in Bloomfield, CT/ your home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Designs tools and fixturing to support the manufacturing process.

  • Designs a wide variety of tools and fixturing consistent with standard tool configuration, including cutting, part holding, forming tools, and deburring tools.

  • Oversees tooling technicians to ensure that tools are built in accordance with the intended design.

  • Works with engineering to identify problems with performance or tool life and recommends solutions or enhancements.

  • Understands tool selection's effect on product form.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required

  • 1 year experience in Relatable Field required

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Cutting Material Selection - Demonstrates understanding of the different characteristics in materials used in manufacturing processes by correctly identifying factors that impact the production process to select the appropriate material to be used for a specific manufacturing process.

Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Problem Solving - Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

Process Documentation - Produces written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence which are followed correctly by all approved stakeholders to establish continuity in processes and standardization.

Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

Tool and Fixture Design - Selects work-piece-holding devices capable of effectively holding parts and products during a manufacturing process to secure their position to meet functional requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


Basic level of relevant work experience required.

Knowledge of one-piece flow – Works with ManufacturingEngineers to identify the optimal process flow. Knowledge of materials – Identifies proper materials andtreatments for fixtures and or gages to ensure safe, robust designs that willfunction for the program’s longevity.

Knowledge of 3D CAD – Demonstrates understanding and use ofCAD software to produce robust 3D designs and 2D prints for fabrication.
