Qualifications
This is an exciting opportunity for Customer Quality Manager #IN941 in Columbus, Indiana
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Utilize industrial manufacturing engineering knowledge and experience to interpret action plans to close customer quality issues including product, supply chain or product-related in order to improve satisfaction.
Partner with the business to be the customer and market segment advocate in resolving product quality, supply chain quality, and process quality related issues for customers, as well as coordinate quality communications with the customer.
Articulate and translate customers’ expectations and requirements for quality to Cummins new and current products, supply chain and process improvement functions, and coordinate implementation with internal stakeholders.
Support the vision and strategy for the Customer Quality organization including definition of key performance metrics and goal tree initiatives.
Use Customer Centric metrics to prioritize customer quality issues and develop targets unique to the market or customer group that reflect right balance of customer expectations and business financial goals.
Manage strong external relationships and coordinate external quality communications with major OEMs, end-users, and all business units.
Participate in technical quality planning and ensure customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard as part of Advanced Product Quality Planning.
Apply mechanical and dimensional measurement science in the development and application of measurement/inspection processes that deliver capable measurement results, supporting design validation and conformity assessment meeting regulatory, customer, and product requirements.
Guide in the practice and application of quality system standards required by international certification bodies, industry specific regulatory authorities, and customer’s contractually specified requirements.
Identify emerging inspection technologies considering detection limits, equipment cost, and processing speed to improve inspection effectiveness.
Utilize Quality Leadership metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Deliver specialized product technical information, communicate product change information, conduct complex installation issue resolutions, and facilitate customer requests.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:
Positions require a Master’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2 years of experience as a Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineer, or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Quality, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineer, or related position.
JOB SITE: Columbus, Indiana
WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
