We are looking for a talented Electrification Controls & Diagnostics Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for Technical Compliance & Certification based in Columbus Indiana or your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • This position resides in the Technical Certification and Compliance On-Board Diagnostics Center of Excellence (TC&C OBD COE) team. The open position is for Electrification Diagnostics Technical Specialist.

  • This position will focus primarily on Controls and Diagnostic system development for a wide range of architectures for future Zero Emission Products like Battery Electric and Fuel Cell Electric powertrains to meet future legislative and customer driven requirements.

  • Provide support and guidance to the functional system and component teams to deliver verified and calibrated software for diagnostic features to the product teams.

  • Make decisions in the areas of Electrification controls and diagnostic system design, requirements, calibration, and tests that impact the quality and performance of calibrated subsystems while ensuring compliance with current and future legislative emission regulations. Responsible for review of developers/testers’ work to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design and calibration tuning.

  • Investigate system design or calibration related problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results.

  • Apply and improve calibration tuning and validation processes and tools. Processes include system specification, modelling and simulation, calibration, Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R), and troubleshooting. Tools include Simulink, calibration tools, and PTC Integrity.


To be successful in this role you will need the following

  • College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a relevant Technical function

  • Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.

  • Prior experience or knowledge of Electrical powertrains and related components preferred

  • Experience with tools including Matlab, Simulink, Calibration tools and PTC Integrity.

  • Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
