Environmental Compliance Engineer
Description
We are looking for a talented Environmental Compliance Engineer to join our. This role is based in Columbus, IN and will offer a hybrid schedule. This role offers a hybrid schedule. The candidate will be expected to report to the worksite once a quarter, or once a year as needed.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Support globally on off-highway VPI Program compliance management
Support customer inquiries on restricted substances regulations compliance for off-highway products for all Cummins BUs
Analyze Bills of Materials of global off-highway products and send compliance data collection requests to suppliers to show compliance to REACH, RoHS, and other global materials compliance regulations
Provide recommendations to compliance manager on compliance declarations using risk-based approach for current and VPI products
Understanding of supply chain data collection tools like IMDS and CDX
Understanding of engineering systems like PLM, IMS, and MCC
Interact with Purchasing and suppliers to determine if and when certain substances will be removed from their product
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
College, university, or equivalent to a Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or related technical or scientific field required.
Basic understanding of chemical regulations impacting Cummins’ products and businesses
2 years of relevant and applicable experience

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
