Fuel Systems Applied Mechanics Lab Manager

Description

We are looking for a talented Fuel Systems Applied Mechanics Lab Manager to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Electronics and Fuel Systems in Columbus IN/ Hybrid to your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • This role will be focused on the Fuel Systems business where we are moving into a vast array of alternative green energy technologies

  • New technologies being developed with in Fuel Systems include: Hydrogen Fuel Systems, Natural Gas Fuel Systems, Fuel Cell Components, Fuel Systems for Advanced / Renewable Fuels

  • Managing a lab with applied mechanics, fluid mechanics and tribological tools

  • Managing a small team of technicians (3-5 reports) and oversee day to day operations of the team and the lab as well as setting strategic plans for future capabilities and growth of the lab and lab team.

  • This role will combine opportunities of experimental testing and structural analysis and will give the candidate resources to calibrate analytical models with experimental test data

  • Use tools such as structural analysis software’s (ANSYS Mechanical), LMS Test Lab, National Instruments Data Acquisition, MTS load frames, etc to evaluate structural robustness of Fuel Systems components and help make design and business decisions

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Must have a College or University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related field

  • Must have at least 5 years working in a similar or related role

  • Previous relevant mechanical lab testing experience is highly preferred

  • Must have an ability to be organized, and effectively communicate cross-functionally with all team members

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
