Fuel Systems Spark Ignition Applied Controls Engineer

Description

We are looking for a talented Fuel Systems Spark Ignition Applied Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Electronics and Fuel Systems Business Unit in Columbus, IN / your remote home office.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Design and calibrate new spark ignited fuel system control algorithms.

  • Perform testing on benches, fuel system rigs, test cells and vehicles to assure the fuel systems software is functioning properly and/or to duplicate problems found by customers.

  • Write Tuning Guides and Concept of Operation requirement documents that adhere to established best practices.

  • Run Failure Modes Effects Tests on bench and vehicles.

  • Submit defect reports in Integrity to document software issues.

  • Enable the use of new fuel system hardware by tailoring and tuning existing calibrations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • 3 years of related professional experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Effective problem solver who is comfortable using analytical tools like MATLAB scripting and Simulink simulation.

  • Classic PID and modern model-based control theory

  • Experience developing controls for a mechanical system
