Global Aftermarket Supply Planning Director


We are looking for a dynamic, talented Global Aftermarket Supply Planning Director to join our team specializing supply chain excellence for Cummins Corporate Business Segment which is based in Columbus, Indiana. This role is a hybrid Columbus, Indiana role. Your office will be located in downtown Columbus, IN with the option to work a percentage of your time remotely as mutually agreed with your manager.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Direct the supply chain strategy for one or multiple supply chain nodes or functions to create speed, dependability, and efficiency in our supply chains. Lead cross Business Unit and functional teams to ensure supply chain processes are consistent with organization’s goals

  • Manage and develop supply chain capability; work with employees to set goals in training and development, performance, and career planning

  • Mentor and coach individual and collective talent to develop supply chain capability across the organization

  • Design, develop, and implement cross Business Unit, enterprise planning, materials, production, inventory, and logistics strategies for the supply chains

  • Champion continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence direction by leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems

  • Partner with internal and external functional stakeholders to maintain strategic and critical supplier relationships

  • Ensure supply chains, intra-company and intercompany, meet all customer and business requirements

  • Align with internal business partners to garner support and advocacy of enterprise Supply Chain initiatives

  • Review Key Performance Indicators and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective action plans

  • Intervene to address supply chain failures as necessary

  • Prepare and manage an annual operating plan including expense, resources, and capital

  • Set the aim for the organization and ensure individual work plans are consistent with supply chain initiatives

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or Supply Chain, required

  • Advanced degree desired (MSA/MBA, MEng)

  • Deep technical knowledge in supply chain functional excellence (APICS certificate a plus)

  • Ideal candidate has 10 years of planning leadership and hands on end-to-end Supply Chain leadership

  • International and cross business unit experience in a highly complex, matrix organization

Additional Experience, Roles & Responsibilities

  • Significant financial and strategic leadership experience required

  • Manage & develop aftermarket supply planning capability

  • Mentor & coach talent to develop aftermarket supply chain planning and operational analytical capability across the organization

  • Ensure aftermarket supply planning meets customer and business requirements

  • Align with internal business partners to garner support and advocacy of Global Aftermarket Supply Planning initiatives

  • Publish Key Performance Indicators and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective action plans

  • Prepare and manage an annual operating plan for aftermarket inventory

  • Serve as the Sales and Operations Execution facilitator for weekly leadership meeting(s)

  • Strong analytical skills required

  • Familiarity with Aftermarket planning systems highly desired

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
