Integrations Technology Leader (Integration Platform, Operations, API Mgmt)


We are looking for a talented Integrations Technology Leader to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology for our Corporate Business Unit in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead technology practices for Integration Services and SDLC practices – Operations and Production Support, Technology strategy, architecture with implementation for platforms, and Systems Engineering foundation teams.

  • Architect, assess, define, and champion the IT System Integration strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with the IT strategy and governing the use of the platform, releases.

  • Co-ordinate with software engineering, Business IT, and project teams to create, document, assess and/or validate the application and infrastructure solution designs for specific systems.

  • Present solution and lead discussions on Integration design.

  • Raise, execute purchase orders / SOW, and execute Invoices. Manage people and budget related to the technical team.

  • Partner with stakeholders to conceptualize high level architecture and translate them into solution designs using Cummins processes, standards, and tools. Co-ordinate with Architecture, Security, Network and Operations team for alignment, compliance and approvals, laydown roadmap for solution implementation.

  • Participate in design and code reviews to ensure quality deliverables.

  • Coordinate with development leads to forecast infrastructure needs, develop plan and strategies for expansion and decommission. Reference Architecture for system topologies and design.

  • Maintain documentation and technical specifications for future planning and Infrastructure upgrades. Evaluate new tools and processes before onboarding.

  • Proactively identify new, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to existing problems.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. SAFe® DevOps Practitioner (SDP), SAFe Agile Software Engineering, SAFe for Architects Cloud architecture certifications, or Cloud Development certifications are preferred.

  • Minimum 12 years of Technology IT experience required, including 8 years of technical team leadership experience working with senior leadership team.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Integration architecture, design and development services including understanding of multiple integration platforms, infrastructure and related monitoring and maintenance tool sets both on premise and on cloud (e.g., Oracle SOA, MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Apiary, OracleOIC/API Management, Apigee etc.)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leadership roles either as a direct manager or matrix manager leading technical resources.

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in design of and in-depth knowledge of integration technologies like ESB (Enterprise Service Bus) Frameworks, Distributed Systems, Messaging Systems & Protocols, API managers and microservices architectures required.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in API Management, iPaaS/Cloud Integration implementation experience (Azure and/or AWS) including API gateways and API management tools API policy management; Experience designing, interpreting, and analyzing API runtime analytics, knowledge of Cloud Architecture, Cloud Security; Cloud platforms and REST API Model, Services Security required.

  • Certifications in MuleSoft, AWS or similar platforms preferred.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Oracle Fusion Middleware including SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus (OSB), BPM, BAM, ODI, Oracle API Management and OEM technologies, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle BPEL, Oracle BPM, Mediator, CEP, API management toolsets, server infrastructure, network preferred in a large-scale enterprise integration platform.

  • Minimum 3 years of Programming experience in Java/J2EE technologies; Experience with DevOps and Agile Methodology including Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is desired; Experience in B2B / Managed File transfer technologies is desired.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in SDLC and Quality tools including continuous integration, deployment, continuous quality, and automation. Deep practical knowledge of methods, tools, and practices to apply tools preferable.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
