We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician to join our team specializing in manufacturing for our Cummins Emission Solutions team in Columbus, IN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Performs skilled activities which support manufacturing business needs. Selects and uses appropriate tools, machinery, and specialty equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment.

  • Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring, and testing instruments. Provides feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

  • Performs quality inspections, ensuring product quality through standard work, inspections, and control of non-conforming material.

  • Meets production goals by operating equipment for manufacturing and assembly.

  • Maintains safety and comply with HSE standards, reporting incidents and hazards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Health and Safety Fundamentals - Champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting, and participating in actions to improve health and safety to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

  • Controls Safety - Recognizes controls related hazards in a manufacturing environment (Electrical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic) to incorporate safe practices and procedures as part of the daily work plan to reduce injuries and create a safe machine environment.

  • Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • 4 years of experience in support of electrical and mechanical systems or equivalent formal training in a related field/industry or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training, or on-the-job experience.

  • Strong knowledge of the manufacturing sector and readiness to adhere to safety measures.

  • Must be a quick learner and able to collaborate with others.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with technical drawings and technical documentation.

  • Must have experience with troubleshooting methods.

  • Knowledge of tooling and welding processes and Fanuc Robotics.

  • Knowledge is preferred but not a must with Photo-electric devices, inductive devices, analog devices, control devices (PLC, PC, HMI’s), motors, pumps, and associated controls.

  • Good understanding of various I/O modules and how they function.
