Onboard Diagnostics Technical Specialist Engineer


We are looking for a talented Onboard Diagnostics Technical Specialist Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Technical Certification and Compliance On-Board Diagnostics Center of Excellence in Columbus, IN

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Become a Diagnostic Subject Matter Expert (DSME) for assigned diagnostics across Air handling, fuel system on Diesel, Gasoline, and hybrid products.

  • As part of the On-Board Diagnostics Compliance and Certification team, guide and advise engineers in multiple regions on ensuring products meet and exceed local Regulatory requirements for Diagnostics.

  • Guide and support diagnostic algorithm development ensuring regulatory requirements are met for all global products. Provide design approval for diagnostic design and calibration for assigned diagnostics and subsystem.

  • Drive meaningful discussions and collaboration with engineering team members, technical managers, project leaders, product, and manufacturing engineers across the company, as well as supplier partners to deliver information, guidance, and recommendations to support and/or make project decisions.

  • As a central expert, provide Diagnostic Functional Leadership for assigned diagnostics across multiple products, working with diagnostic tuners and stakeholders to provide the best possible performance within the constraints of the product architecture and diagnostic requirements.

  • Provide training and coaching on diagnostic calibration process, methods, and best practices to the diagnostic tuners.


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines with a minimum of 3 years of on-the-job experience.

  • Proven technical background/experience in engineering diagnostics

  • Prior experience in a senior or leadership role

  • Knowledge of Matlab and Simulink

  • Strong communication skills

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
