This is an exciting opportunity for Supplier Quality Manager #IN996 in Columbus, Indiana
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Lead the resolution and follow-up of quality issues with internal and external customers and suppliers.
Participate in project selection and analysis, advise staff on prioritization of projects, oversee project budget progress, and lead cost control activities for assigned teams.
Reinforce customer-led quality focus in the supported organization.
Establish and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls.
Serve as a key quality representative for supplier and customer audits.
Manage post-implementation exercises to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement.
Follow Six Sigma methodologies in the process of identifying, selecting, tracking, progressing through, and assessing the success of projects and initiatives.
Demonstrate knowledge of the Cummins Operating System by applying the ten practices to assess business segment and functional performance, set strategy aligned with business needs and create consistency of purpose for continuously improving products, processes, and services.
Solve quality-related problems on engine components using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer, determine the assignable cause, implement data-based solutions, identify systemic root causes, and recommend actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
Utilize Pareto analysis, histograms, control charts and complex tools including Design of Experiments and Quality Function Deployment to facilitate continuous supplier performance improvement activities to reduce defects.
Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning/Product Part Approval Process for new engine products and ensure customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard.
Guide in the practice and application of quality management system standards required by international certification bodies, ensure compliance to ISO 9001/TS 16949 standards, industry specific regulatory authorities and customer’s contractually specified requirements.
Lead all aspects of supplier quality management including helping to develop strategy and collaborative supplier partnerships, identifying supplier innovation capabilities, contributing to supplier audit and certification processes, tracking supplier performance methods, and acting quickly to resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance utilizing Six Sigma methodologies 3P, 5 Why and Fault Tree Analysis to improve supplier performance.
Lead the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability or impact of negative events as part of Project Issue and Risk Management.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:
Positions require a Master’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, Supplier Quality Analyst, or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field and 5 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Improvement Engineer, Supplier Quality Analyst, or related position.
JOB SITE: Columbus, Indiana
WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
