Combined Maintenance Technician


Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Repair and maintain plant and production machinery and equipment.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, servo motors and drives, pneumatic & hydraulic breakdowns.

  • Proactively perform work order repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, inspections and adjustments.

  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.

  • Understand and respect environmental and safety rules.

  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement program (5S, Identify improvement opportunities on equipment)

  • Daily communications with other shifts and management

  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications, Education and Experience:

  • Have completed a 2 year or equivalent industrial maintenance program with certification.

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and electrical repairs.

  • Have at least 2 years’ experience with troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s and programs.

  • Troubleshooting servo motors and drives is preferred.

  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code.

  • Ability to plan a task and create a material list.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents, schematics, and drawings.

  • Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.

  • PLC and Controls Skills:

  • Proficient in troubleshooting Allen Bradley PLC’s and programs. Programming ability in this PLC environment is preferred.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting motor drive and motor problems with DC and AC systems.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency with MS Office software, and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
