Cummins Inc. Summer position-In shop diesel mechanic in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

DESCRIPTION

Your Summer opportunity is important! We are looking for a student to join our team to assist our technical team in Dartmouth, this summer.

Join our team and enjoy a great environment and valuable warehouse/logistics and business learning experiences with our talented team to enhance your knowledge and skills!

In this role, you will:

· Learn the basic inner workings of an engine, work to assist certified technicians, learn to inspect components for failures, follow troubleshooting paths utilizing inhouse software using Cummins specific tools and equipment on various makes and models.

· Additional duties in support of our parts and service team as required (warehouse work, housekeeping, painting etc).

· Have great initiative, energy, curiosity, pride and passion for learning and providing the best possible experience for our valued customers!

· Be a team player with communication skills, great work ethic and desire to make a positive impact!

· Be passionate about delivering a great customer experience and have a sense of urgency to ensure customers are served swiftly and effectively.

· Have good organizational and planning skills and remain poised in a busy, fast paced and demanding business with multiple and changing priorities.

· Pay attention to detail and easily learn and use new systems, processes and technology.

Certifications or experience:

· Position opened to students in a heavy-duty mechanic program or any other related program.

· Valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position.

Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm.

Candidate is expected to start in this position in June 2024 for 3 months.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
