Placement - Service Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement - Service Engineer to join our team specializing in the global support for both Engines and Gensets for our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. During your placTo be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Studying towards a Degree in Engineering or equivalent related STEM degree discipline (including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).

  • Has experience in, and can demonstrate, relevant examples of Cummins core values e.g. voluntary work, community involvement activities, working with disadvantaged groups, charity related support, delivering outstanding results, teamwork, capabilities and outside education experiences.

  • Has clear thought processes and can show a reasonable approach to tasks, challenges, hobbies etc.

  • Able to work with other engineering and cross-functional disciplines to resolve product issues and able to participate as a team member and constantly contributes towards team goals.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Investigate engine and genset component issues.

  • Work as technical liaison between Cummins field service organizations and the Engineering functions.

  • Collaborate on component teardown and failure analysis to assist Field Service, Warranty and Engineering with problem definitions, including documenting and publishing findings in technical reports.

  • Elaborate reports using analytical and engine diagnostic tools to identify trends in field failure data, including examination of engine operation data and launch investigations for emerging product issues.

  • Create and maintain technical field service publications enabling service technicians to provide the most effective support to our customers. Develop and improve diagnostic techniques when published troubleshooting procedures have been exhausted.

  • Participate on Global cross-functional problem-solving teams.

Qualifications
