We are looking for a talented student to join our team for our School To Work - Customer Operations (Fall) in Florence, KY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

The Cummins-Meritor Cooperative Education Student who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. The student will support the Customer Operations Department Manager in driving continuous improvement initiatives across our manufacturing and distribution processes. The co-op will gain hands-on experience in operational analysis, process optimization, and project management, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our operations.

  • Assist in identifying areas for process improvement within manufacturing/distribution operations.

  • Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to management

  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.

  • Provide support to the Customer Operations team in managing day-to-day activities

  • Address operational issues and provide solutions to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Semester project to be determined with supervisor and other activities required by supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

  • Some programing skills to support local engineering tools development are required.

  • Demonstrated capability and knowledge of basic mathematics and sciences.

  • Experience with data analytic tools.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools preferred.

  • Ability to learn on the job in a dynamic environment while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Ability to work independently and within teams as needed.

  • Demonstrates written and oral communication skills, including presentation creation.

  • Strong teamwork and ability to interact with all levels of the organizations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certification

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Post-Secondary:

  • Must carry a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters.

  • Must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate is commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
