This is an exciting opportunity in Galesburg, Michigan for a Customer Engineering Product Specialist.
This dual customer/product focused position serves as the senior technical liaison between OEMs and represents our customers during new product development programs. Applying Cummins’ products to customer vehicles requires the development of technical specifications, implementing new design configurations, and delivering high performance, low-cost equipment and system solutions integrated with customers’ products in a variety of applications. Integrating high quality and optimized customer solutions requires the interaction with sales and marketing teams.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Partnering with OEM to develop and optimize transmission calibrations that meet/exceed their requirements for fluid economy, performance and drivability.
Ensure engines meet the minimum integration standards through certification testing
Gathering customer requirements and documenting new requests
Working with product engineering to implement new functionality, and performing validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Class A commercial driver's license or ability to obtain one
Expertise with Vector tools such CANape and CANalyzer
Basic understanding of vehicle drivetrain/powertrain systems and components
Safety & Hazard analysis experience a plus
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
