Description

The placement will involve either specific project work, elements of an ongoing job role or more likely a combination of both. This will include opportunities to work within a global Supply Chain team to improve new products logistics and planning which should include component planning feasibility check, readiness follow up to support project on time launch, inventory control and associated process improvements.

  • Working with project teams, Plant Materials, Demand Management, Account Management and Purchasing on new products parts forecast & planning

  • Be the liaison of Global Supply Chain team and Plant Manufacturing team to meet project deliveries

  • Supporting Planning & Logistics with Packaging data collections, system maintenance & improvement projects

  • Supporting Materials with Freight Data and Premium Freight Activities

  • Supporting Planning & Logistics with VPI (New Product Introduction) and Supply Chain Cost Reporting

  • Manipulating and using data to establish the basis for actions

  • Sourcing information, interpreting, developing and implementing solutions to achieve results by agreed deadlines

  • Representing and promoting Cummins Turbo Technologies and the department internally and externally to Customers and Suppliers

Qualifications

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Working towards a degree in an appropriate discipline (Business Studies, Supply Chain, Transportation & Logistics) which includes modules in production/manufacturing systems, supply chain and an emphasis on numerical skills

  • Basic knowledge of MRP(materials requirement planning)

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or commercial environment would be an advantage although not essential

  • Willing to work with people from different time zone and culture background

  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills

  • Ambition, flexibility and confidence coupled with creativity and imagination

  • A desire to learn with a willingness to take on responsibility
