This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis or Columbus, Indiana for a talented Global Health and Wellness Benefits Director to lead Regional Health and Wellness Benefit teams in the development of the global health and wellness benefit strategy in the following areas; Medical, Dental, Wellness, Lifestyle Behaviors, Employee Assistance Program and Disability. Ensuring compliance with plan design, corporate governance and regulatory requirements. Continuously assesses global market practices, trends, and regulatory environments related to employee benefit program design and delivery specific to regional geographies. Integrates these elements into the company’s strategy, programs, and policies as appropriate.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Leads the development and evaluation of the organization’s plan design, benefit programs, and strategies in alignment with business objectives.

  • Leads initiatives focused on achieving performance excellence in benefit plan design and delivery.

  • Accountable to the delivery of accurate and consistent health and wellness benefit information and assistance to employees and families

  • Accountable to the accuracy and completeness of employee benefit plans, policies and process documentation.

  • Accountable to the development of employee relation strategies related to employee health and wellness benefits and programs

  • Coaches and mentors one or two levels of direct reports; assigns work according to availability, skills, and developmental needs; assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports.

  • Leads the LiveWell strategy objectives globally

  • Leads the strategy for employees and family engagement using innovative communication and education to improve health and wellbeing

  • Accountable for having processes and talent capable of delivering on and meeting the business global financial and legal compliances

  • Leads collaboration with global strategy operational partners

  • Responsible for building networks of internal and external partnerships that support global health and wellness benefit programs and initiatives.

  • Demonstrate ability to lead and influence strategies in an environment with multiple levels of stakeholders who may have conflicting opinions

  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, develop and execute global strategies

  • Knowledgeable about financing of health-related programs or benefit plans, as well as legal compliance in health care and benefits (PCI, ERISA, HIPPA, etc.).

  • Budget responsibility for health care related function, area, or employee benefit plan.

  • Lead or manage a team that includes consultants and health care functions to deliver a service to customers, patients or employees.

  • Lead or manage a customer, patient, or employee communication/engagement initiative related to health care or benefits.

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills who can manage a group of disparate team members and implement big changes.

  • Population health data management, knowledge of global benefits or captive financing operation a plus.

Qualifications

Change Management - Applies the Cummins structured process and tool set for engaging individuals and organizations through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes.

Labor Relations - Practices employee relations at sites where employees are represented by third parties; applies knowledge of labor law; negotiates, interprets and implements the language of collectively bargained agreements.

Compensation and Benefits Administration - Translates Cummins plan design, statutory and tax requirements in the communication and delivery of compensation and benefit programs.

Compensation Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.

Benefits Design - Designs and develops programs, policies, processes and tools using appropriate methodologies to advance organizational goals; evaluates market competitiveness, best practice and recommendations for Cummins in accordance with established processes that aid in the design of organizational programs.

Data Analytics - Interprets information relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks, and leverages analytical problem-solving tools to draw conclusions and communicate meaningful patterns that drive business insights; assesses quality of data as an initial step of the analysis.

Human Resources Consulting - Collaborates with business leaders in applying business and Human Resources functional knowledge to interpret the business environment, identifies and prioritizes current and future problems requiring solutions; structures clear problem statements, breaking down issues into smaller, meaningful and manageable components that when addressed, provide a holistic solution.

Ensures accountability - Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments.

Manages ambiguity - Operating effectively, even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.

Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

Financial acumen - Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions.

Education/Requirements

College, university, or equivalent degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field or equivalent experience required.

Leader or manager, for a minimum of 7 years, in a health care related company or for an employee health benefit plan.

Compensation and Benefits

Base annual salary commensurate with experience plus annual variable compensation. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
