This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, Indiana for a Senior Auditor- Audit Services. Cummins USA is where you can work on industry leading projects.

Your impact will happen in these and other ways:

  • Responsible for the execution of financial and operational audits. May provide technical guidance to contracted audit staff, ensuring that objectives are met. Reviews financial and operating procedures to determine whether or not internal controls are being properly applied.

  • Leads or executes internal financial and/or system audits and risk assessments within established business process controls.

  • Tests and documents more complex financial and computer system records for information system integrity and transaction accuracy and reports discrepancies.

  • Preparation of less complex audit plans or assists with more complex plans.

  • Prepares formal written reports to communicate audit results to management, and makes recommendations as appropriate.

  • Leads onsite audit process including contracted audit staff to perform internal audits and risk assessments within established business process controls.


Skills and Experience:

This position will involve the execution of audits and consulting engagements spanning across functions, Business Units, and/or Area Business Organizations in order to evaluate risks globally. Engagements will focus on business process and regulatory compliance more so than financial controls. A background in Finance/Accounting is not required. The ideal candidate possesses the following:


  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills

  • High attention to detail and strong documentation and analytical abilities

  • Ability to tolerate ambiguity, assess the risk of uncertainty, and act resourcefully when facing uncertainty

  • Ability to influence others to change their mindset or behavior to achieve positive results

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to perform independent research to better understand and evaluate complex audit subject areas

  • Ability to work across businesses, functions, cultures, and time zones

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

  • Experience in auditing or process improvement

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Background in compliance, risk management or law desirable


  • Up to 25%

  • Extensive international travel may be required

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
