Description

Cummins are searching for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our new greenfield production facility in the Katowice region. The postholder will be a key part of the new plant, helping implement changes processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards the set up of a successful facility.

This position supports our Cummins Emission Solutions Business.

To make a difference in this role, you will:

  • Support new Product Readiness through VPI/VPC and ensuring Manufacturing Readiness

  • Assist the planning, design, purchase, and implementation of Manufacturing Equipment, tools, fixtures, and gauges

  • Preparation of RFQ, DAP, Equipment Trials at Supplier end, Installations and prove-out at Plant

  • Provide inputs on layout preparations, site readiness, machine trials, inspection

  • Have responsibility for Capex Planning, Purchase Ordering, Budget tracking and Cash Flow monitoring- Asset Tagging, Monitoring, and audit

  • Lead discussions with the suppliers, scope finalization, quotation & compilation

  • Partake in project planning, Scheduling, tracking

  • Monitor and communicates project status to project team.

  • Assist with managing project risk; uses quality tools to identify areas of risk.

  • Productivity and efficiency improvements, such as leading cost reduction projects, reduction in scrap and quality defects, reduction in maintenance downtime etc

  • Ensure effective communication and interactions with Design team/ Equipment Suppliers

  • Maintain project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Sponsor and other stakeholders on status of specific projects and assignments.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience with G8D, FTA, Root Cause Analysis, problem solving and improvement projects.

  • Experience in Engineering Material flow

  • Knowledge on Simulation software’s like welding accessibility , tools accessibility , line side inventories for child parts with bins calculation , workflow layout

  • Broad knowledge of Quality systems, safety components/standards, simulation software etc. line traceability and tools

  • Hands on experience in process planning, capital purchase process, equipment installation & commissioning, knowledge of process documents like PFD , PFMEA, VSM, Control Plan, Time Study, Line Balancing.

  • Preferably core Assembly & Welding knowledge.

  • Be willing to work in shifts as per the Build Plan
