DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Maintenance - Level II to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Jamestown, NY.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Equipment Availability : Performing maintenance and machine support tasks, keeps equipment operational and minimize downtime.

  • Promote Safety : Actively report hazards, comply with HSE standards, and use appropriate personal protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment.

  • Enhance Quality : Applying high standards of workmanship, you'll support equipment uptime and perform quality inspections to ensure high-quality outputs.

  • Support Preventive Maintenance : Providing feedback and following preventive maintenance protocols will help in reducing equipment failures and improving reliability.

  • Maintain Cleanliness : Keeping your work area clean and orderly, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks, will contribute to a safe and efficient workspace.

  • Improve Processes : By identifying and reducing manufacturing constraints, you will help in solving problems and improving processes, contributing to continuous improvement activities.

  • Effective Communication : Communicating effectively with your team and support teams will ensure smooth operations and collaborative problem-solving.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Information:

Minimum requirement for this role is an accredited 2 year Associates degree in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Machine Technology/Repair, Mechatronics or equivalent.

The winning candidate will be placed into our NYS Apprenticeship program and must complete 8,000 hours of OJT.

Upon successful graduation from the program an official Journeyman's card will be awarded and the employee will transition to a full-time Skills Trade working in either the Assembly or Machining departments.

Shift placement will be based on business need at the time of graduation.

It is expected that these roles will be either on 2nd or 3rd shift.

Compensation:

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

Min Salary $22.69

Max Salary $34.04
