We are looking for a talented Quality Systems Technician to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Components Business Segment in Manning, SC.

In this role, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Responsible of conducting internal audits (QMS, Mfg Process Audits, Product Audits) in an organization.

  • Demonstrate technical understanding of mfg processes, its risk analysis and control plans. When needed help conduct PQC (Product Quality Council), pull together presentation of management review etc. Also conduct other QMS related activities needed to perform QMS processes.

  • Maintain the knowledge of relevant requirements based on internal changes (process and product technologies) and external changes (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG core tools, and Customer Specific Requirements (CSR)).

  • Able to perform audits with process based approach and risk based thinking. Gather and analyze information related to internal audit program and produce reports.

  • Own and maintain audit plan/schedule (for both ISO/IATF Internal Audits and Manufacturing Process Audits) document and audit records.

  • Participate in supporting, implementing, auditing and one-on-one training for AIAG Core Tools (FMEA, APQP, MSA, SPC, PPAP).

  • Auditors for Product Audits shall demonstrate competence in understanding product requirements (including applicable CSRs) and use of relevant measuring and test equipment to verify product conformity.

  • Help write and maintain Quality Manual for the business management system, documented procedures (or reference to them), and description(s) of the interactions between the key processes of the management system.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Quality Leadership (Cummins Operating System) - Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins Operating Systems (COS); applies Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and customer centric mindset; uses COS and TQM practices to assess performance, set strategy aligned with business need and create consistency of purpose for continuously improving products, processes, services; enables data driven proactive decision making to achieve zero defects and removes barriers to enable line of sight to customers; uses metrics to drive continuous improvement.

  • Quality System Management - Guides in the practice and application of quality management system standards required by international certification bodies, industry specific regulatory authorities and customer's contractually specified requirements.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent business experience. IATF 16949 ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Trained. Six Sigma Green Belt trained and willing to work towards certification. AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and MSA) trained.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


  • Demonstrated ability to perform process based and risk based audits.

  • Initiated, approved and monitored corrective actions associated with audit findings.

  • Planned, performed and led different QMS audits based upon IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.

  • Performed training on AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC and FMEA)

  • Performed Product Audits per applicable CSRs

  • Led 3P-5Whys root cause analysis

  • Provided support to documentation on the key processes per business quality manual

  • When conducted mfg process audits, demonstrated in-depth understanding of processes and associated risk analyses (FMEA and control plan)

  • Exibited good understanding of QMS tools such as QSi, CQMS etc.

  • When needed performed CQMS admin training.

  • Proven organization skills required. Coding & data analysis experience preferred (PowerBI).

  • Coordinates initial customer complaint response. Track and optimize department data, including collaborating financial analysis with Accounting.

  • Collaborates QMS best practices with other facilities. Tracks and department's budget.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
