Shippig & Receiving Specialist - 3rd Shift (10:00pm – 6:10am)

We are looking for a talented Shipping & Receiving Specialist to join our team specializing in Logistics for our Components Business Segment team in Maxton, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Perform system transactions associated with receiving/warehousing/packaging/shipping.

  • Continually achieve inventory accuracy, delivery and production performance goals. Track, measure and provide explanation to variances to goals or metrics daily, monthly and annually.

  • Actively participate on Continues Improvement teams within the Materials department to improve efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality and safety.

  • Be familiar with weigh-counting procedures, record control procedures, shipping and receiving procedures and setting up schedules.

  • Operates power fork truck in moving materials, stacking, loaded pallets making frequent trips out of doors to storage areas.

  • Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

  • Risk Assessment - Evaluates hazards within the work environment by applying hazard identification and risk assessment techniques to analyze and prioritize risk, enabling a selection of control measures that reduce risk as low as reasonably practicable.

  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

High school diploma, College, or training in shipping and receiving, forklifting or related field required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Significant work experience in forklifting is required.

  • Must be able to function effectively in a team environment and to effectively communicate with scheduling, material handling and manufacturing personnel.

  • Be familiar with weigh-counting procedures, record control procedures, shipping and receiving procedures and setting up schedules.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

  • Good understanding of customer demands

  • Familiarity with bill of lading, packing list, and international shipping requirements.

  • Possess a valid motor vehicle driver license.

  • Strong knowledge of the automotive manufacturing sector and readiness to adhere to safety measures.

  • Must be a quick learner and able to collaborate with others.

  • Experience in Forklift operations an advantage.

  • Self-motivated to take actions that meet the goals of the department.

  • An accurate knowledge of part numbers, storage locations and quantities.

  • Computer/Cullinet experience with Receiving/Warehouse/Shipping transactions is an advantage.

  • Understand importance of inventory accuracy and on-time delivery of parts.

  • Excellent attendance, time management and housekeeping skills.

  • Flexible to work multiple shifts as needed.

  • Must be physically able to lift, pick/pull and package parts.
