Cummins Inc. Field Service Power Generation Technician in Memphis, Tennessee

DESCRIPTION

$5,000-$10k Sign on Bonus!!

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our Distribution Business in Memphis, Tennessee.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

-Completing repair activities on generators or components.

-Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

-Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.

-Maintain detailed records of service.

-Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

-Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products.

-Maintain own tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

-Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities.

-High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

-Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products.

(Entry):

-Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators.

-Basic Diesel Engine experience.

-Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality.

(Intermediate):

-Advanced troubleshooting and repairs of generators, transfer switches, and auxiliary components.

-Startup and repair of bypass transfer switch.

-Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.

(Advanced):

-Setup, troubleshoot and repair basic paralleling generator systems.

-Understanding switchgear schematics.

-Able to train Entry/Intermediate Technicians.

-Seeking Intermediate to Advanced Technician.

  • A current valid license is required for this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Certified Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Basic level field service work experience

Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with of power generation products

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience

Customer service experience

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.

  • This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.

  • 3 years driving experience.

  • This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use.

  • Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
