Mechanical Integration Leader
Description
We are looking for a talented Mechanical Integration Leader to join our #NewPower Business Unit in Mississauga, Ontario.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
This product focused position performs established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area. This involves work across many steps in the product life cycle. Because of the product centered nature of this position, they are very often a central point of coordination and decision making between product line engineers, customer teams, systems engineers, purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing.
Skills:
Product Problem Solving - Solves product problems using a process that protects the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; and identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
Product Verification and Validation Management - Develops product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority; negotiates product requirements against capability to guide project scope; evaluates analytical, simulation and physical test results to verify product capability and validate requirements; assesses legacy versus proposed system solution capabilities and produces recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions.
Product Failure Mode Avoidance - Mitigates potential product failure modes, by identifying interfaces, functions, functional requirements, interactions, control factors, noise factors, and prioritized potential failure modes and potential failure causes for the system of interest to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of Cummins’ products.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Responsible for leading the structural and piping design of the product/subsystem/module
Manage the mechanical specification of the product/subsystem/module
Help define concepts for modularization of the mechanical implementation of the process design of the product/subsystem/module
Define and follow-up on simulation and validation work together with simulation and validation experts
Interface with piping design function, skid design function, process design team, electrical and instrumentation design team, product/subsystem/module design team, manufacturing engineering team, project manager, etc...
Create clear and well defined structure and work packages for the desing engineers and the India based CAD team (modeling / drafting) and follow up
Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplines is required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience Required:
A successful candidate must hold their P Eng Canadian license
3 years in a leadership roles
5 years experience in a technical project engineering role
Able to lead a global team of engineers, designers and drafters located in Canada, Belgium, UK, US, India, Spain, etc...
Able to read and understand a P&ID
EPC background, preferably in Hydrogen, Oxygen service, Oil & Gas, Offshore equipment
Experience with PTC Creo CAD platform is a bonus
