We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing. This is an onsite position and is located in Morganton, North Carolina

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

• Leads the work for specific projects to create and implement all aspects of a manufacturing processes to ensure safety requirements, manufacturing goals, business goals, and product specifications are met.

• Leads by applying the knowledge or use of manufacturing principles and practices to improve manufacturing equipment and processes.

• Impacts the work by utilizing continuous improvement tools, following the Cummins standards, and leading the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

• Leads the communications with and influences key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

• Works with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

• Leads the advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles and practices as they are applied to Cummins.

• Maintains relationships and coaches key stakeholders.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Ergonomic Fundamentals - Understands ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.

• Industrial Engineering Knowledge - Integrates the pillars of industrial engineering techniques by applying a comprehensive and quantitative analysis to available data to be used as decision factors for the development or improvement of manufacturing processes to contribute to the most efficient process.

• Manufacturing Knowledge - Demonstrates the knowledge of manufacturing by correctly implementing changes in current processes, equipment, and applications to meet the function's needs and contribute towards continuous improvement.

• Optimizes work processes - Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

• College, university, or equivalent degree required.

• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Additional Information

• Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

• Experience in programming, setup, and operation of CNC equipment

• Experience with probing routines, programming, setup, and operation for CNC equipment

• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD systems ( SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD )

• Experience with CAM Programming Software ( Mastercam )

• Experience with supporting and designing custom designed manufacturing equipment

• Experience creating work instructions and machine setup instructions

• Experience with creating and modifying PFMEA & Control Plan documents

• This is an onsite role located in Morganton, North Carolina.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience, range: $84,800-127,200 Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Cash Balance Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, Domestic Partners Coverage, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
