Cummins Inc. Heavy duty equipment Field service technician in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Heavy duty equipment Field service technician to join our Distribution Business in Mount Pearl NL.

The candidate will be a heavy-duty journeyman technician with field service experience. This role is a hybrid role which will include Power Gen on the job training, Marine applications, new project startups as well as Cummins engine diagnostics and repairs. We are looking for a Red seal mechanic certified technician who is also able to complete Commercial inspections on vehicles.

Overtime is required and travel throughout the island is required regularly with all meals, accommodations provided and allowances as per the CBA Local 855.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Completes preventative maintenance and/or basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.

  • Engages with customer in a courteous and professional manner. Ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

  • Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.

  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.

  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.

  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.

  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation.

QUALIFICATIONS

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • Red seal mechanic certification

  • Current relevant electrical certification

  • Local valid driver’s licenseThis position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

  • Intermediate level of workshop related experience required.

  • Some commercial inspections experience

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products

  • High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience.

This role is Monday through Friday, with a regular work week of 42.5 hours. The salary is starting in the 93K+ range based on experience and as per the CBA.

This position is eligible to a 5000$ sign on bonus
