At our Oevel site in Belgium, Cummins is developing innovative electrolyzer technologies that can generate hydrogen for various applications with zero emissions - contributing to a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to lead teams of designers and engineers to deliver drafts, drawings, FEA analyses for design and manufacturing of current product engineering and new product development of Electrolyzers.
This position is part of New Power business segment and will be based in Oevel, Belgium.
Your impact will be seen in these and other ways;
Coach and support a global and growing team of engineers and designers for the mechanical design of Cummins’ Electrolyzers and related projects
Coordinate and define the different activities within your team, according to the priorities and based on the skills of each individual
Ensure the correct implementation and execution of the existing processes and workflows
Cooperate with internal departments such as Product team, Project Management team, Manufacturing team, Installation and Commissioning team to meet business targets
Organize the technical training and support to guarantee the competence level of your team and sharing of knowledge and expertise
Shares knowledge with others by serving as a trainer, mentor and resource
Ensure good communication flow within and between the different teams
To be a success in this role you will need;
MSc. university academic degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing or process engineering is desired or bachelor’s degree with relevant professional experience is required.
Experience in a product, technology or engineering service role with demonstrated success leading complex projects and programs and influencing outcomes through direct and indirect reporting relationships.
Must have a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving, quality decision making, providing technical direction and direct leadership to international functional team(s) and conflict resolution.
Knowledge of CAD systems and assemblies and FEA (structural and thermal analysis) is required. Previous hands on experience in designing system and sub-system is advantage.
Working knowledge of pressure equipment, pressure vessels, cooling system and piping is preferred.
