Description

Cummins Sales and Service in Portland, OR is looking for a knowledgeable Parts Professional to allocate and deliver parts to internal technicians and over the counter end users. Developing the skills and ability to serve in the parts counter role at the Portland Service Center. The Parts Professional creates customer value by delivering dependable solutions through Customer Support Excellence.

Job Duties:

  • Knowledge of all products in the markets the branch supports, including competitor’s products.

  • Determine replacement parts required, according to inspection of old parts, customer request or customer’s description of malfunctions.

  • Perform the duties of a Parts Professional with minimal supervision.

  • Highly skilled in customer communications and sales techniques.

  • Ability to file vendor parts warranty claims.

  • Provides support on complex marine engine and parts support.

  • Ensures parts compliance with internal audit requirements.

Qualifications

Skills:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in researching of parts for customers using resources available

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate suggestive up-sell opportunities to aid customers in making repair decisions

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and knowledge of Cummins systems

  • Demonstrated ability to positively react to change in environment, processes and people

  • Demonstrated ability to engage customers in a courteous and professional manner

  • Displays evidence of identifying and taking ownership of problems encountered and suggested solutions

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years parts counter sales experience

  • Forklift certified preferred

  • Understand and model Cummins values (preferred)

  • Ability to multitask and deliver on KPIs

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
