We are looking for a talented Machining Shift Leader to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business Segment in Rocky Mount, NC.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Supervises the daily activities of a production unit or teams.

  • Responsible for the daily activities of a production team including managing team members, housekeeping, and meeting production targets.

  • Works cross functionally to recommend and engage in improving safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

  • Serves as group lead on projects and work assignments.

  • Provides guidance and feedback for team members in accomplishing tasks and goals; sets expectations and clarifies responsibilities.

  • Coaches and mentors team members.

Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, university, or equivalent degree required.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Supervisory experience preferred.

  1. Leads continuous improvement projects to improve Safety, Quality, Throughput/Delivery, and Cost metrics in area(s), including value stream transformations and A3's

  2. Responsible for working 7-step problem solving process for BIS assigned to Operations in area(s)

  3. Responsible for leading cleanliness & 5S strategy for responsible area(s) on assigned shift

  4. Leads training strategy with department trainer(s), to ensure maximum flexibility of workforce in area(s)

  5. Coordinates with order management and scheduling to optimize flow of materials through respective area(s)

Note: responsible areas include all 3rd shift machining lines at RMEP.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
