About the role

We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to join our high performing HSE Team. Based out of our Melbourne, Sydney or Newcastle offices you’ll report to the HSE Director for Cummins South Pacific and work closely with the South Pac HSE team. Your Regional area of focus will be providing HSE support and guidance to our Central region across a number branches located in TAS, VIC, ACT, NSW and NZ to ensure all of our people go home safe, every day.

Your role will also include;

  • Oversee day to day operations associated with safety, health and environmental programs, HSE objectives/targets, compliance and other associated HSE tasks

  • Ensure regulatory compliance for all sites

  • Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and environmental risks

  • Supports the collection and reporting of site HSE KPIs for use at the site, BU and Corporate levels

  • Lead and support the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems and the efforts to control risk and ensure continual improvement beyond compliance

  • Participate in knowledge sharing across your South Pac team and the wider Cummins HSE global community

  • Contribute to the highly engaged environment of our passionate, caring HSE team

About you

You’ll be an engaging HSE professional with a focus on people, keen to quickly develop great relationships with your branches, regional leadership and HSE team. As a member of the senior leadership team you will utilise your industrial HSE knowledge and collaborative and influencing skills to contribute to and drive the successful implementation of HSE strategies.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in HSE or equivalent, ideally also possessing postgrad HSE qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role, having worked both in a corporate environment and on / with multiple industrial sites

  • HSE experience gained within the engineering, construction, general industrial, manufacturing or consulting environment

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

  • Be able to work autonomously and remotely from your team

  • Experience creating reports for senior leadership review

  • Flexibility for travel
