Market Insights Manager


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Become an expert on emerging energy markets, including renewable technology trends, new business models, decarbonization initiatives, and their impact on transformation of the backup power markets.

  • Generate informed, unbiased and credible market intelligence that furthers market understanding and supports decision making.

  • Align with business teams and acts as a thought partner in support of leadership’s decision-making processes.

  • Develop and deploy effective methods to monitor relevant market trends, competitive moves, and overall market dynamics.

  • Manage special projects and provides market input to further the understanding of specific aspects of the market to support informed decision making and strategy development.

  • Lead efforts to understand market drivers and historical behaviors to build segment-specific forecasts in support of the strategic-planning process and other key initiatives.

  • Develop and leverage internal and external knowledge networks to build a comprehensive view of the market (e.g. vendors, trade shows, conferences, industry events).


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Market Analysis - research and monitor market dynamics using a variety of meaningful primary and secondary sources and data to expand your knowledge of markets; analyze findings by connecting dots and identifying trends to create a coherent story of the markets; summarize relevant insights by condensing, prioritizing, and translating how these impact our business.

  • Deriving Market Insights – effectively analyze and translate the information to develop strategic responses, propose projects and solutions, and appropriately allocate resources in order to maximize business value.

  • Data Analytics - Discover, interpret and communicate qualitative and quantitative data; determine conclusions relying on knowledge of business or functional frameworks; simultaneously apply data validation, data visualization, and problem solving approaches to effectively extract meaningful patterns and business insights; present conclusions and outcomes that enable data driven business decisions.

  • Intuitive Listening And Adapting Solutions - Translate needs, expectations, or asks from customers, stakeholders, etc. into actionable solutions through active listening and intuition; choose or produce solutions (e.g. process change, tool, product, service, etc.) to meet or exceed the customers’ or stakeholders’ needs or expectations or to provide value.

Additional qualifications of the ideal candidate include:

  • Solid understanding of power generation and energy markets (at least 3 - 5 years of experience), including emerging trends, industry dynamics, and competition.

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including hands-on experience with forecasting and modeling.

  • Ability to translate large amounts of unstructured information and data into a clear story and to offer actionable recommendations.

  • Comfort with ambiguity, adaptability, ability to effectively manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines. Self-motivated and self-managed.

  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills
