Systems Engineer – Technical Advisor


We are looking for a talented Systems Engineer- Technical Advisor to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Corporate Office in Talent, OR / home office (Hybrid).

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Obtains input and negotiates with Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) stakeholders to define technical requirements and delivers an optimized subsystem-based analytical and experimental verification plan to the program or project team.

  • Leads the product design and validation requirements (including analysis/simulation and testing), creates and drives the DVP&R efforts and leads the V&V activities, primarily for the mechanical aspects of the battery systems and components.

  • Uses systems knowledge and expertise to make decisions in the areas of verification and validation that impact product performance, reliability, and durability.

  • Investigates and addresses complex product concerns or issues, understands causal mechanisms, recommends appropriate action, owns problem resolution and documents results with guidance from more experienced team members.

  • Creates, manages, improves and applies processes such as technical requirements, iDFMEA, Engineering Standard Work (ESW), DVP&R, test standards, problem solving and tools such as Integrity and McParts required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making.

  • Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline; Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

  • 10 or more years combined experience across product validation and mechanical design, with established competency in the areas of thermal management, shock, vibration, thermal cycling, and general system/sub-system characterization.

  • Experience with CREO, Ansys, GT Suite, Integrity, MATLAB, and LabView design tools (or similar) is preferred.

  • Experience and interest in experimental mechanics.

  • Experience with instrumentation for testing and the lab environment.

  • Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, technical specifications, and datasheets.

  • Electric Vehicle and/or Battery experience is a plus.

  • Export controls licensing is required for non-US citizens.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
