Cummins Inc. Technician - Field Service 2/1 Residential in Karratha, Australia

We are looking for a talented Field Service Engine Technician to join our team here in Karratha. You will be required to carry out engine diagnostics, repairs, scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance for our customers, both on site and at the Karratha workshop. Our customers vary across the Mining, Marine, On Hwy and Power Gen sectors. The role is a residential position based in Karratha on a 2:1 roster attracting a substantial location allowance. Karratha is a vibrant city on the Pilbara coast offering unparalleled natural adventure, world class modern facilities, and has fast become the city of choice for families and boaties.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

· Deliver a first-class service to our customers across, automotive, mining, marine and power generation.

· Complete repairs and maintenance of Cummins On Hwy and HHP products and you will attend to breakdowns in the field, as well as service our marine customers both on and off shore.

· Diagnose and repair various gen sets across our industrial and power station customers.

· Engine rebuilding and reconditioning

· Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to the Field Service Supervisor

· Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

· Relevant Heavy Diesel trade qualification - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (to Australian standards)

· Experience as a technician in the service and maintenance of heavy equipment / engines in field service. Cummins experience is highly preferred.

· Have previous experience of working in remote locations

· Solid diagnostic and IT capabilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Relevant trade qualification (Plant or Heavy Commercial Vehicle/Heavy Diesel)

· A valid driver’s license

· Experience as a Diesel Mechanic in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, mining equipment, engines and similar applications is preferred
