Data Design Leader
Cummins is seeking a talented Data Design Leader to support and lead within our Manufacturing and Supply Chain domain, playing a key role with stakeholders across the company globally. This position is based in Columbus and offers the potential opportunity to work fully remote.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Implement and design data quality solutions for the data-based projects, support self-service for data quality.
Conduct proof of concepts for new services and technologies like data virtualization, big data-data quality, AI, ML based models in enterprise data management etc.
Understand business processes and translate them into enterprise data models and or leads a team to do the same.
Implement data modeling solutions using relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. Create design patterns and solution conceptualization. Design bespoke databases using a mixture of conceptual, physical, and logical data models.
Uses data analysis results at all levels to provide recommendations and designs solutions to improve data management processes, reduce data redundancy and resolve data issues.
Understanding and knowledge about data security, masking and encryption.
Develop and deploy policies in data archival and end of life curation.
Communicate effectively the solutions built, gap fit wrt technology and need
Stays current with emerging technologies as it relates to data and analytics
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Significant experience in a relevant discipline is required, 7-10 years
Experience in data and analytics space with tools, technology, architecture and solution design
Hands on experience with structured data modelling tools like ErWIN or other similar
Understanding about data quality, implementation experience and solutions delivery
Experience with data governance tools
Understanding and experience with cloud based technologies in big data space wrt data based design and modelling
Understanding of API’s and offering services via Integration technologies like mule soft etc.
Experience with managing a team and setting clear goals
College, university or equivalent degree preferred or equivalent work experience in relevant technical discipline.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
