Product Engineer – Electrical

We are currently recruiting for a Product Engineer – Electrical to work within DBU Distribution based in Wellingborough working on a “Hydrid” basis which will include site and home working.

The role is a product focused position, is required to perform established technical tasks at the sub-system and/or component level for current and future products within a given business unit or corporate area.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways;

  • Lead the electrical system development for design schematic & harness concepts for creation within the design team, manufacturing operations and suppliers.

  • Lead liaison with the Europe Commercial peers to develop product solutions in line with business/ customer expectations with Project Management from concept charter through to prototype, build validation & product release.

  • Solving product problems that determines the assignable cause, implementing robust, data-based solutions and identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

  • Develop product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority. Negotiate product requirements against capability to guide project scope and evaluate analytical, simulation and physical test results to verify product capability and validate requirements.

  • Assess legacy versus proposed system solution capabilities and produces recommendations with technical documentation to support product decisions.

  • Mitigate potential product failure modes, by identifying interfaces, functions, functional requirements, interactions, control factors, noise factors, and prioritized potential failure modes and potential failure causes for the system.

  • Document information based on knowledge gained as part of technical function activities. Communicate to stakeholders with the goal of enabling improved technical productivity and effective knowledge transfer to others.

Qualifications

To be a success in this role you will need;

  • Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • Competent Electrical Engineering experience in Project Management and product development from concept to release.

  • Strong Team working / Leadership and communication controls liaising with local & remote teams.

  • Previous experience within Aerospace, Automotive, Rail or Industrial industries would be beneficial

Compensation and Benefits;

  • Salary between £39,901 and £44,400 depending on experience.
