This is an exciting opportunity for Electronic Systems Technical Advisors – Hardware # CA014 is West Sacramento, California
Your impact will happen in these and other ways:
Utilize mechanical and electronic engineering principles and practices to develop and validate electronic sensors, actuators, control units or harnesses to ensure the consistent operation of products in a variety of customer applications.
Utilize Design and Application of Digital Electronics to specify components and architectures of electronic control units.
Investigate highly specialized electronic hardware problems, understand causal mechanisms, recommend appropriate action, own problem resolution and document results.
Create, manage, improve and apply electronic hardware development processes and tools including Product Problem Solving techniques - 7 step or 8D, design for EMC robustness, design for manufacturing and requirements analysis.
Create Electrical Systems or electronics-based design or architecture concepts through specific knowledge of electrified (or electrical-based) systems to ensure a system design that adheres to both company and customer expectations.
Obtain input and negotiate with suppliers and software development teams and deliver prototype hardware to application engineering teams following mechanical engineering principles.
Develop product systems validation plans from a variety of inputs to identify failure modes, while managing product risk and relative priority, and negotiate product requirements against capability to guide project scope utilizing Product Verification and Validation Management.
Use knowledge of Systems Requirements Engineering to make decisions in the areas of hardware architecture, electrical design, and Mechanical Design that impact functionality, unit cost, and schedule.
Establish acceptance criteria for the system of interest through analysis, allocation and negotiation, and track the status of requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
Responsible for review of less-experienced developers/testers’ work to ensure robust, reusable, and efficient design.
Responsible for coaching and developing the next generation of technical experts. Provides problem resolution leadership for complex systems with a high degree of ambiguity and often global business impact.
Lead the development and improvement of work processes and systems across business units using experience with worst case analysis, DFMEA/PFMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).
Specify electronic hardware and interconnections that measure and control systems using Design and Application of Mechatronics Systems.
Assist in the transfer of knowledge to lesser experienced engineers.
Skills and Experience Required:
Design and Application of Digital Electronics
Electronic hardware development processes and tools including Product Problem Solving techniques - 7 step or 8D
Mechanical Design of Electrical Systems
Product Verification and Validation Management
Systems Requirements Engineering
Establish and track requirements throughout the system lifecycle
DFMEA/PFMEA, and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
Design and Application of Mechatronics Systems.
Required Education, Licenses or Certifications:
Positions require a Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as an Electrical, Electronics, Design or Project Engineer, or related position.
Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Systems or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 6 years of experience as an Electrical, Electronics, Design or Project Engineer, or related position.

WORK HOURS: 40 hours/week - 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation and Benefits
Base hourly rate commensurate with experience plus bonus.
